Workshop Chairs: George Stroggylopoulos, Ioannis Katsounis and Eleni Zarimi, University of the Aegean, Greece
The workshop is orgnanised in collaboration with the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA) .
Overview
University alliances are increasingly expected to demonstrate concrete societal impact, yet often struggle to show the link between their activities and the change they claim to produce. The EM4SI workshop: Enterprise Modeling for Social Impact brings together researchers, practitioners, university alliances, NGOs and public-sector organisations from across ERUA regions, to explore how enterprise modeling can help make these connections more explicit. The workshop invites participants to bring real regional and societal impact challenges and explore them through enterprise modeling. Through short case presentations, a hands-on structuring session and cross-alliance exchange, EM4SI aims to connect enterprise modeling research with genuine, locally anchored social-impact challenges. The workshop will contribute to the wider discussion through exchange with participants from across the ERUA alliance, creating opportunities to explore how modeling approaches can support alliances in understanding, articulating and demonstrating their societal impact.

The workshop will feature the 5th ERUA Digitalk, organised by the University of the Aegean. The Digitalk is part of ERUA’s Interregional Creative Knowledge Communities initiatives and will connect the workshop’s themes with the experiences and challenges of European university alliances and their communities.

Workshop Format
The aim is to foster a discussion-based workshop, encouraging presentations that showcase ongoing or planned research related to the workshop’s topics. However, our call goes beyond the traditional academic submissions, in order to broaden the community and eliminate unnecessary thresholds.
The call is for practitioners as well. Practitioners that have applied a model or approach in practice or have conducted a case study, are welcome to submit their work.
Contribution formats
Presentations
We invite submissions of presentation ideas, encompassing topics, cases, or studies that are ongoing. We aim for a maximum of 7 slides, not including the title slide, agenda/structure of the presentation slide, references slide(s) and contact information slide.
Whitepapers
For those working on a broader, less academic level, we invite you to submit a whitepaper of up to 5 pages that explains a concept, argues a point, or proposes a solution related to the workshop’s themes.
Extended Abstracts
If it’s too early for a full paper on your study, we welcome extended abstracts of 1-2 pages that summarize your research’s goals, methods, and perhaps preliminary findings.
Short Papers
We encourage submissions of position papers (5-9 pages) that present your viewpoint on a relevant issue or problem, or an innovative idea in the field of enterprise modeling for social impact. Short papers, presenting a study in a condensed manner, are encouraged as well.
Full Papers
We absolutely do welcome traditional academic papers of 10 – 12 pages that delve deeply into a particular area of enterprise modeling for social impact.
